MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE MOOSE FAMILY

We hope you all had a Merry day yesterday. I know we all did, after a very early wake up call at 2.30 from the youngest Moose - Kai boy, the day didn't officially start again until 6.45am, a much better time to discover Santa had been. Lots of fantastic presents were left by the big fella, the frenzy of the opening of all the gifts and another Christmas morning was over. What a day though, we spent it with some very good friends, laughing eating drinking and a little more drinking and eating, but by 10.30 last night the eye's were tired and the body could not consume any more of anything. So dragging ourselves upstairs, tucking Jenaya and Kai into bed, Marty and I hit the lounge and had a game on our new, whoops the Kids new Wii. What a day.......It was so great talking to family and friends from home and elsewhere around the place, David and Catherine it felt like you both were here with us, Oh technology, it is fantastic... Love and Kisses to you all. HO HO HO...xxxx

Christmas 08 - Reindeer and Frank Lampard ?

Jenaya & Kai say thanks to Catherine and David for their FANTASTIC Christmas presents !!

Reindeer joins Jenaya's collection of beautiful Christmas ornaments - pride of place, front and center on the tree ......

As for Kai - well he might not have been born in 1978 or scored a 158 goals ( YET ) but he looks pretty good in the blue and white. Kai quite fancies himself as a bit of a Ronaldo but we will see what the transfer fees look like at the next window !

Cheetahs and Bombers will be back in action in January ,, we'll see if the training camp over the last week has worked any magic for the kids ...

only a few days til the big fella arrives ....

i still think nicole is more excited than the kids !
hahaha ## mooooooooooose ##

The Sad Thing About

moving overseas is leaving all your family and friends. One of the best things about moving is all the great people that you meet. We have been very fortunate to have met some fantastic people who not only have become wonderful friends they also have become like family. For me they have made Singapore the wonderful place that it is, for Jenaya and Kai they have become Auntie and Uncles - someone different from Mum and Dad, they haven't taken anyone's place, they have just joined the crew. Last Friday night we celebrated Christmas together and boy did we have a great night. The turkey was just delicious, the stuffing just like Nanny's, the gravy just like Grandma's, well the pudding had a new twist and so did the veggies, but that's the great thing about living somewhere new and meeting these great people, somethings are the same and other things have a new twist.

Only 9 Sleeps To Go

Until, the big fella in that red suit comes sneaking in to your house. I don't know about you but there is much excitement, at Moose Mannor. School finished last week, we are on the final run for Christmas parties - which I must say after the weekend I am very thankful for - Oh getting old. The Christmas list's have been finalised, Santa's snack has been discussed, the last off the overseas parcels have been set. Sounds like Christmas is very close to me. For me it is has to be the best time of the year, I love everything about Christmas, the lights, the trees, the shopping, how very excited the children get and how happy everyone else seems to be - just love it.

Rain, Rain and.....

well maybe the clouds here in Singapore have finally run out or rain ??? What looked like a large down pour of rain on it's way to us yesterday, just turned into a whole lot of huff and puff. We had packed up early from down at the pool made a quick dash up stair, why because rain drops the size of golf balls were starting to fall from the very grey clouds above us. After a hour or so of thunder and lightening....nothing not another drop of rain fell. I must say the clouds put on a great show. The storms here in Singapore are always amazing, how quickly they appear and disappear, the amount of rain that thumps down and of course the thunder and lightening. Just not very amazing when you get caught in one.

Alex is having a Birthday

tomorrow and we, the Moose family, would love to wish her a very happy birthday.

Alex we hope you have a great day and all your birthday wishes come true.

With lots of love

HALLOWEEN OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Was last Friday,, which I'm sure you all knew anyway......Well here at our condo they do trick or treating, it's like a small child's heaven. Knock on a door and you get candy, knock on another door and you get chocolate - sounds pretty great to me and I'm well, let's just say over 39. Jenaya and Kai were so excited about the idea, knock - candy, knock - chocolate, so all dressed up and ready to trick or treat. With large teeth in and a large plastic bag to collect all the goodies in they were off. Now we have two large bags filled to the top with Candie, chocolate and chips, whether they can get through it all before next Halloween is yet to be seen, but boy did they have a great night. BOO

THE PART II

of the Vancouver wedding has been and gone. What a weekend was had by the Moose's. As usual the time went way too quickly, but loads of fun was had. The weather was wonderful and the location, well just beautiful. We had a great weekend in Kangaroo Valley, it was great to catch up with everyone again. Dave and Dianna, just back from their honeymoon looked great and seemed very happy to do it all over again, oh and everybody else looked pretty happy to party all over again.

Watch Out She's Back......

That's right, Dot with the Lot is on here way back to Singapore. We have about 5 1/2 more hours until she hits our shores. Boy O Boy are we excited, Jenaya and Kai have a list of things for her to do, places to go and things to see. Can't wait. So for 2 wonderful weeks Nanny will be able to hug, kiss oh and spoil Jenaya and Kai rotten. Look out Singapore.

We have also had some day visitors over the weekend, Dave and Dianna stopped by on their way back from their 4 week honeymoon. Was really fantastic to catch up with them again and hear about all the wonderful places that they have visited. Looking forward to catching up with them again for part II of their wedding down in Kangaroo Valley in a 10 days time - Giddy up. Also in town last Sunday was a old friend, a guy I use to work with, yes I use to work. It was great to catch up with Jeff, we all had a great Sunday, eating, drinking, swimming and having a good laugh about life.

Lots of Visitors

Have been knocking on our door this week. First there was Ralph the red bear, for those of you who don't know him he is Kai's class bear. Every week he surprises someone in his class by going home with them. This week, boy oh boy, how lucky was Kai, Ralph came home with him. Then on the very same night we had some other visitor's turn up......Jenaya and Kai's cousin's (and my brother and sister in law) Nathan, Aaron, Craig and Donna. We were so excited, we had so much fun with them all, we showed them about, took them swimming, had lots of laughs, fun, fun, fun. The saddest thing is was they only stayed with us for 2 nights. It was so great having them with us and so sad to see them go. Maybe next time it will be a longer stay. Then more sadness, Ralph's stay with us had come to an end, we had fun with him, but he is a little quiet for me.

We do have lots more visitors in a weeks time, very much looking forward to catching up with Dianna and David and also a friend who we haven't seen for a few years or 5 Jeff. Visitors are always fun.

Then There Was Disneyland.....

Boy did we go hard at Mickey's place. We arrived Monday at about 6.15 at 6.30 we were screaming our heads off on our first roller coaster and we didn't stop that night until Goofey turn the lights off. Tuesday was basically the same, Wednesday I felt like I had done 10 rounds with a bus - too many roller coasters or is it age, I'm going with the roller coaster story. We had a great time, a totally wicked time, a awesome time. Saturday came around way too fast but I must say we were all Disneyed out. As we headed to the airport Pluto under one arm and Mickey under the other we all had huge smiles on, dark circles under the eyes, lots of tales to tell, memories of fun, fun, fun. What a place, what a great time was had by all the Moose's big and small. We will be going back were the last words uttered out of Daddy Moose's mouth as he nodded off to a disney slumber.

Time Just Flew By

They say that means you are having a good time, good time, well actually we had a FANTASTIC time in Vancouver. Not only did we do all the wedding function we also squeezed in a trip up to Whistler Mountain, which by the way was just beautiful, I don't really have the words, maybe breath taking, but that still doesn't do it justice. We got to see all the preparations that are going on for the winter Olympics in 2010, the kids got to see snow, something that just doesn't happen in Singapore, well not naturally. We tried to see as much as we could in between all the function's. What a beautiful city Vancouver is, we had the best weather, which we are very thankful for - nothing but sunshine. It was nice to breath in some fresh, clean, cool air, something we haven't done for a while, well it seems like forever. We have even talked about going back, but we will see, there is always another places to visit.

Here's the picture of the Bestest Man....

Did I mention what a great wedding it was..... Looking forward to Part II down in Kangaroo Valley on the 18th October, we get to do the whole reception again - can't wait.

THEY FINALLY DID IT YEHAAAAAAA

And what a wedding it was, I suppose after 15 years of chasing each other around the world, it would want to be great. It was, the celebrating started with the bucks weekend (well 4 days actually) then we had a get to meet everyone night. Then came the rehearsal dinner, then the actual wedding and to finish it off a brunch on the Sunday - WOW. We had a fantastic time, Dianna and David looked so very very happy. We met some great Canadians, boy do they like to drink - nearly as much as the Australians. Dianna's family are wonderful warm and funny and were an absolute joy to spend time with and The Cochrane's, well they feel just like family and are all such great people. When all was over at about 1pm Sunday, we were all so very tired, party out BUT wait we were still trying to squeeze one more get together in before we all went our own ways - thankfully that didn't happen. What a fantastic time was has in just the most fantastic place.

Oh did I mention how great the bestman looked.......

Bags are Packed

and we are ready to go go go. Only ONE more sleep and it is holiday time yehaaaa. Look out Vancouver and Disneyland the Moose Family is on it's way. Who's more excited ?? couldn't tell you. All I hope is that our trip over is a lot better than Marty's.....

He did eventually arrive in Vegas and by the sounds of it the boys are having a hoot of a time. Lot's of drinking, golfing and basically having fun, it will be interesting to see what state they are all in on Tuesday when they arrive in Vancouver.....

Football Season has Started

and what a start it was, I had been doing the rain dance all night, WHY I hear you say....well Kai's game was at 8am and we had to be there at 7.45. Now if you know me well I'm not that great at getting up in the mornings....boowhoo. So no rain, not even a cloud, so off we go. Where the kids play football is a place called Turf City, you park your car then you have a 10 minute walk to the playing fields, but because it has been raining basically all week, Saturday the track was just mud, clay and lots of puddles- oh so much fun. Anyway the kids had a great time the weather was fantastic - very hot, no rain, Jenaya and Kai got to catch up with all their soccer buddies and they had a great day.

Marty Moose that is, well maybe not at the time he was meant to go or with all the things he was meant to take but he has left the country. I'm pretty sure after the week that has been he will sleep all the way there, just hope they remember to wake him up to change planes in Los Angeles or we might see him on Monday morning when we board our plane.

This weekend sees the start of the football season, Jenaya and Kai are soooooo excited. Jenaya has moved up an age group and onto the large field and will be playing with one of her school friends. Kai boy has also moved on up to the under 7's and he has some mate's from school in his team.

Only 3 more sleeps.........who's more excited me or them ????? Just can't forget the suit for the wedding - whoops Marty.

Much Excitment

is in the moose house hold, only 1 more week until we pack our bags and head off to Vancouver for the wedding that we have been, well it feels like it, waiting a life time for. FINALLY David and Dianna are getting married. After 14 years of chasing each other around the world they are finally going to settle in one country and settle in that country together. So the Moose family have been busy planning our flights, booking accommodation, gathering our bestest wedding gear, oh and looking for clothes that you can wear when the temperature is under 25 degrees. It's so very exciting, so many things to be excited about, there's the wedding, seeing David & Dianna, catching up with old friend's, meeting new friends, Vancouver, Whistler, cold air, fresh air and the icing on the cake Disneyland, well the little Moose's are very excited about this stop. So much to do so little time, but like I said so very exciting. Life is good.

AT PEACE WITH MYSELF

and at peace with the world...... WHAT !!! I can hear you all say from here, well some friends and I have started yoga. Last Friday was my first lesson, what an interesting time we had. I don't really know if I will ever find that inner peace that our teacher has, I really don't think I have the patience to find it. Hears what I'm thinking, it looks too me that it might take too much time, but I'm willing to give it a try.

Jenaya and Kai have both settled back into school very well. They both are very excited as they have camp week starting Monday. Kai's grade is just having an afternoon full of fun and games after school on Monday and Jenaya, well she is heading up to Riders Lodge in Malaysia on Wednesday morning for 3 nights. The brochure reads more like a five star hotel, unlike the camp that I attend in year 6 all those years ago, freezing cabins, bad food, not much to do. I'm sure they are going to have super times at both their camps.

We have some visitors arriving Tuesday, my adopted little sister Tanya and her boyfriend are staying with us for a couple of days on their way home from Malaysia. Very much looking forward to an action packed couple of days with them, I'm sure we will shop, swim and party until we drop - bring it on.

Lastly, just a quick note to some very great girls that have become fantastic friends, who go by the name of The Fab Four, Desperate Housewives, The Girls (depends who's husband is telling the story) so good to be back together after a 6 week brake - These Chickies make life in Singapore so much fun and so very interesting. Look forward to next weeks Polo Club lunch - giddy up.

Jenaya's Snap Shot's of Vietnam

We let Jenaya use our old digital camera on our holiday, it was the first time that she has been totally in charge of a camera and we think she did pretty good for a first timer and a 10 year old.

She really did take some great photo's and I'm sure with more practise she is going to be quiet handy behind the lens.

WE'RE BAAAAAACK....

and boy did we have a fantastic time. The weather was HOT - how hot ? HOT, the food was great, the people interesting and the sight's well they were just fabulous. Oh I forgot the shopping, that was pretty great also. We saw so many great things, met some really nice people. We learnt what crazy driver's there are in Vietnam, every man for himself I think is the main road rule, don't take any notice of the road signs and overtake on any side of the road and that includes footpath's. Hoi An was beautiful, the people gentle and kind, Hanoi was manic, crazy and out of control, but the people in general were very nice, they loved touching the kid's blonde hair. We caught up with Alison and Ian in Hanoi, which was fantastic, so great to see them after 6 1/2 years - haven't change a bit. So a super time was had by all the Moose's but as always it is good to be home. Oh I forgot I did go a bit crazy on the photo's - 276 in total some are great, while some are well just say they won't see the light of day, but did have a lot of fun with the new toy.

The time has come....

to pack our bags and head off on holidays.... Like I said we are very tired after all our birthday celebrations this week so a holiday is in order and we are off...

Where I hear you ask.....Vietnam, how excited are all the moose's....... VERY.

If your lucky you might get a postcard, if we get time, but we will be thinking of all of you, wishing you were with us, I'm sure the weather will be great and the food fantastic and the sights just wonderful. So off we must go and get ready for our trip, we will miss you all, well maybe.....

Another day, Another birthday....

but that doesn't mean we're not as excited as all the others that we have celebrated this week, it just means we are very tired and need a holiday.....

The Things You Can Do....

Today we headed out early - yes early, unusual for me I know but I sprung out of bed, well not actually sprung, but crawled, let's be honest. Back to the story, Jenaya and Kai are on school holidays AGAIN, so we thought today would be a great day to head out to Singapore Zoo for the morning. Try and beat the heat, the crowd's and we did beat the heat, gosh there are a lot of people that get up early - I'm shocked. We headed on out and had a fabulous time, the kid's got to feed the elephant's, the giraffe's and watch the polar bears being feed. I do have to say Kai did volunteer to help feed the polar bear's until he relised he would have to swim really fast with a fish between his teeth. He lost interest very very quickly then - maybe next time once he has started swim lessons.

Monkey Boy's Birthday Bash

What a day, games were played, prizes were won and songs were sung. They yelled, they ate, they danced and they chased. Balls were kicked, water balloons were thrown and a large man was chased and tackled to the ground. Oh what fun was had.... It was sad to see them go, tummies full of hot dogs and cake, bags full of lollies in their little chubby hands. Tired Moose's everywhere, thank goodness I think where the words that Marty uttered, thank goodness we have 12 months to recover, oh and thank goodness we only have one 6 year old.
