Monkey Boy's Birthday Bash

What a day, games were played, prizes were won and songs were sung. They yelled, they ate, they danced and they chased. Balls were kicked, water balloons were thrown and a large man was chased and tackled to the ground. Oh what fun was had.... It was sad to see them go, tummies full of hot dogs and cake, bags full of lollies in their little chubby hands. Tired Moose's everywhere, thank goodness I think where the words that Marty uttered, thank goodness we have 12 months to recover, oh and thank goodness we only have one 6 year old.

The sun was shinning, the water looked cool and refreshing, excitment filled the air, tention was thick on the faces of the young competitors. Race Day had arrived. There sat the teams, Argentina, Norway and Ghana. Who would win the day....... Avondal Grammar's first swimming carnival had arrived. Weeks of training, well ok maybe a quick lap or two on the weekend, anyway I think I've set the scene for you all. Jenaya and Kai had a great and very successful day, their team Norway won the day, with Jenaya captaining the team and Kai enjoying his first ever swim carnival and one Mum, very horse from shouting

About Last night....

What a way to spend a Thursday night. Some friends from school and myself have been attending cooking classes at a local lady- Vida's apartment here in Singapore. The idea is you pick out a menu that you would like to know how to cook and the lovely Vida teacher's you. Vida, discusses the menu and all the how, why and why not's of cooking the dishes, then we head off to the kitchen. She is a very patient lady, as we all turn up with our regulation bottle of wine and of course regulation chit chat. Anyway we had decided to go with a Thai menu last night, we started with Gai Tom Ka, then Pork Satay with Sauce and then Som Tam - Green Papaya Salad. I am still deciding which dish won the night, they, as usual, were all just sensation. Will the dishes ever be cooked outside of the class room, one will never know, will they taste that good if they do make it to the outside world, one will never know, but what a fantastic night, oh and the company wasn't half bad also.

New Neighbours

Over the last couple of weeks now we all having been watching 2 tiny little birds fly in and out of our garden, collecting grass, feathers and leaves to build their nest in our beautiful garden. I have just been out to our garden and have discovered that the little nest has two new residence. They must be the tiniest baby bird's I have ever seen. Looking forward to seeing them out and about over the next couple of weeks.

Another Public Holiday...

This weekend has brought another Public holiday, this being Vesak Day. Vesak is the major festival of the year as it celebrates the birth , enlightenment and death of Buddha on the one day, the first full moon day in May.

So everything is very quiet in Singapore today, with schools closed for the day, the kids have been enjoying themsleves once again down by the pool with their mates. The weekend brought the usual soccer, swimming and even a little bit of bike riding for the Moose men.

Dot with the lot is starting to get very very excited, as she leaves next Saturday for a Canadian holiday for 4 and 1/2 weeks (who wouldn't be excited). So look out Canada.....she's heading your way.

What A Great Weekend

was had by this mum. It started on Friday afternoon, with Mercie whipping up some homemade spring rolls, with Jenaya and Ka'is help. Arsenal football camp on Saturday morning for the kids, a power walk for me through the Botanical Gardens, which is hard but very very enjoyable. Saturday night brought the Kiwi Ball, so Marty and I got all gussied up and headed on out with a group of friends to enjoy a night of champagne, great food, fantastic company and some mean disco dancing. Can't say we felt that great or fantastic on Sunday morning, but we were up right and that's all that counts. Mother's day was sensational, I think one of the best mother's days that I have had. We spent the day by the pool with 3 other family's, we had lunch together, while celebrating what great mother's we are, then we had a lovely curry for dinner, prepared by our very good friend Ash (and he can cook) a little bit more toasting what super mother's we are, by this time us mother's were very tired. It's hard work celebrating how wonderful you are......Anyway what a great day, what a great weekend, the only thing missing was our Mum's and we hope you both had a wonderful day.
